Layoff history
Minneapolis-based cybersecurity firm Arctic Wolf cut about 250 employees, roughly 10% of its workforce, in early May 2026 to help fund AI investments. The company directed resources toward its Aurora Superintelligence Platform and Agentic Security Operations Center (SOC), which combine security data, a "Swarm of Experts" AI agents, and human oversight to compete with rivals like CrowdStrike, Rapid7, and SentinelOne. Sales, product development, and marketing took the hit, including sales engineers and senior systems engineers with datacenter infrastructure expertise. A company spokesperson said that while the decisions were difficult, they position Arctic Wolf to "operate more efficiently, continue investing in our Superintelligence platform and Agentic SOC, and deliver strong value to customers." Some affected workers expressed surprise on LinkedIn given recent positive business results. Severance terms were not disclosed.
