Subscription vitamin company Care/of shut down entirely in June 2024, laying off all 143 employees by July 3. Parent company Bayer, which had acquired a 70% stake in 2020 at a reported $225 million valuation, announced it was ending investment in the brand to redirect capital toward other health innovations. All subscriptions were cancelled as of June 17, with no new orders accepted. Care/of acknowledged on Instagram that it "unfortunately no longer have funding to operate in the way we have been" and said the brand was exploring potential revival options. The company had raised $46 million from investors including Juxtapose, Goodwater Capital, and RRE Ventures before Bayer's acquisition.
