Dunzo has 5 publicly reported layoff rounds on record between January 16, 2023 and August 31, 2024. A total of about 600 employees were affected across these rounds.
Layoff history
Dunzo laid off 150 employees at the end of August 2024, cutting roughly 75% of its remaining staff and leaving the Bengaluru-based quick-commerce startup with only about 50 people across its supply and marketplace verticals. The company had been burning through cash at a steep pace, posting losses of INR 1,801 crore in FY23, more than three times the INR 464 crore loss recorded the prior year. A proposed funding round of $22 to $25 million had stalled, and the startup was dealing with delayed salary payments, unpaid vendor dues totaling approximately INR 4 crore, and active insolvency proceedings. No severance details were disclosed.
