FormFactor has 3 publicly reported layoff rounds on record between January 6, 2026 and January 9, 2026. A total of about 440 employees were affected across these rounds.
Layoff history
FormFactor announced in January 2026 that it would lay off more than 220 workers, about 11% of its workforce, as the Bay Area semiconductor testing equipment maker moved to cut costs after feeling the pressure of higher import tariffs. The company said the restructuring was intended to "better align cost structure and support gross margin improvement." The reductions came alongside the closure of two California facilities: its Baldwin Park plant, which employed 113 workers and was set to close January 30, 2026, and a Carlsbad location, where 107 more positions would be eliminated when that facility closes in mid-December 2026. Affected workers included technicians, engineers, assemblers, and managers. No severance terms were made public.
