Forward had raised nearly $400 million over eight years, including a $100 million round just one year prior, and reached a $1 billion valuation in 2021 when SoftBank led a $225 million Series D. Despite the capital, the company never generated enough subscriber revenue to cover costs, burning through cash as its CarePod kiosks struggled with limited patient uptake, high manufacturing expenses, and technical problems. Founder and CEO Adrian Aoun declined to comment on the closure.
