Heureka Group eliminated around 100 positions, roughly 16% of its approximately 600-person workforce, on April 23, 2024, the first day of its new fiscal year. The Prague-based e-commerce comparison platform attributed the move to rising pressure for efficiency across the technology sector. Spokesperson Martin Zabka said the company was "affected by global trend of increasing pressure for efficiency in technology and IT sector." The cuts came as Heureka posted mounting losses, with its deficit widening from 310 million CZK in 2022 to 385 million CZK in 2023, even as revenue edged up from 1.56 billion to 1.59 billion CZK. The company had also undergone ownership and leadership changes in the prior year, with PPF and EC Investments acquiring Rockaway Capital's stake and CEO David Chmelař replacing longtime chief Tomas Braverman in September 2023. Severance terms were not disclosed.
