Layoff history
Healthcare-technology unicorn Innovaccer laid off about 340 employees across India and the United States in May 2026, restructuring to become what CEO Abhinav Shashank called an 'AI-native company.' In an internal memo, Shashank said the firm was aligning its team to current business priorities and building an organization that is 'lean, fast and focused.' It was the third round of layoffs in four years, and it came roughly five months after the company completed a 600 crore rupee employee stock buyback. The startup, which sells data and AI tools to healthcare providers, said it was prioritizing speed and measurable customer outcomes while pursuing acquisitions to strengthen its AI and specialty-care capabilities. Innovaccer did not disclose severance terms for the affected staff.
