Layoff history
Logistics startup Porter laid off more than 350 employees in early November 2025, roughly 18% of its payroll, after merging its truck and two-wheeler business verticals in a bid to eliminate operational overlap. The Bengaluru-based company, which reached unicorn status after raising $200 million and is targeting an IPO within 12 to 15 months, turned profitable in FY25 with a consolidated net profit of INR 55.2 crore. Management described the move as "a one-time restructuring, aimed at building a stronger, more agile, and financially resilient organisation for the road ahead." Affected employees were offered severance pay, extended medical coverage, and career transition assistance.
