Layoff history
Roof Stacks (Roofstacks A.Ş.), an Istanbul-based technology company, laid off approximately 220 workers in January 2026. According to Turkish media, the firm used "Code 18 – End of Business" terminations, which critics said let it sidestep standard collective dismissal procedures. The layoffs followed the detention of HAR Group owner Burak Soylu in connection with an illegal gambling investigation, and one company manager described the situation as "a political reputation assassination." Affected employees were told their January salaries would arrive in February, with severance and seniority compensation split into three installments across September, October, and November. A meeting attended by 428 people was reportedly held to address the affected divisions. The report did not say which teams were cut or what share of the workforce the reductions represented.
