Layoff history
Progress Software filed a WARN notice with North Carolina regulators on November 5, 2024, just five days after completing its $875 million acquisition of ShareFile from Cloud Software Group, disclosing plans to cut 199 positions at ShareFile's downtown Raleigh headquarters. The cuts, affecting engineers, sales representatives, and senior managers among others, were to be carried out in phases, with most taking effect in January or February 2025 and the remainder continuing through mid-2026. A Progress representative said integrating the business required difficult decisions about the go-forward organization and that not everyone would be able to stay long-term. The company said it would maintain a presence in Raleigh. ShareFile, founded in 2005, provides secure document management software for businesses.
